Dr. Long has taught senior design and mechanical design courses. He is Co-author of two books. He is or has been on the WVU Senate Committees, Promotion and Tenure Committees, Academic Standards Committee and many more too numerous to mention. He has served as a member of the WVIT College of Engineering Advisory Committee and WVU Engineering Enterprises Advisory Committee, and a member of SAE Education Board. He was awarded Outstanding Advisor and Teacher and the SAE Teetor Education Awards. He has served as Associate Dean and Assistant Dean as well as Professor of the College of Engineering.
