Dr. Hailin Li joined West Virginia University as an Assistant Professor in August 2007. Before joining WVU, Hailin was employed as an assistant research officer at National Research Council Canada after he got his Ph.D from University of Calgary in 2004. He had also worked as research engineer in China Automotive Technology and Research Center, China before he moved to North America in 2000.
Hailins expertise is in the area of advanced combustion concepts, the combustion and exhaust emissions of I.C. engines and the application of alternative fuels including both liquid and gaseous fuels. In the past decades, Dr. Li has conducted extensive research projects and built his expertise in edge-cutting areas tending to reduce the exhaust emissions and improve the fuel economies of I.C. engines.
Dr. Li has been very active in research communities associated with I.C. engines, combustion, and exhaust emissions. These include sufficient journal and conference publications, reviewing scientific papers and proposals, hosting and organizing professional activities and international conferences. He is members of a few professional societies including SAE, ASME and Combustion Institute.
