Admission Eligibility for Master's Program - International

To be eligible for admission into the MSAE or MSME degree program, a candidate must hold or expect to receive (by enrollment date) a BSAE or BSME degree from either an accredited ABET curriculum, or an internationally recognized program. Candidates with superior academic records in baccalaureate degrees in other engineering fields, mathematics, or science may be eligible for admission into any of the Master's programs offered by the department but will normally be required to attain a baccalaureate level of proficiency in certain engineering areas of the department. An Engineering Technology (non-calculus based) degree is not sufficient qualification for admission into any of the graduate programs offered by the department.
To be admitted as a Regular Master's student, an applicant must have
  • Minimum TOEFL score (strictly enforced) =213 (computer based) or 79 (iBT version) or 550 (paper)
  • Minimum GRE /VERBAL score =450 or 40% percentile
  • Minimum GRE /QUANTITATIVE score =670 or 75% percentile
  • Minimum GRE /ANALYTICAL= 560 or 60% percentile
  • Minimum GRE /ANALYTICAL writing = 4.5 or 52%
  • Minimum Cumulative GPA in all previous college work (B.S. degree) (strictly enforced) = 3.0
  • Three high quality reference letters, and
  • Additional university and departmental requirements, including but not limited to the availability of faculty members who can serve as graduate advisors and guide the candidates towards successful completion and defense of a M.S. Thesis in the candidate's stated research areas of preference.

Admission Eligibility for Ph.D. Program - International

To be eligible for admission into the Ph.D. degree program, a candidate must hold or expect to receive an MS degree (by enrollment date) in some discipline of engineering from an institution which has an ABET accredited undergraduate program in engineering or an internally recognized program in engineering.
To be admitted as a Regular Doctoral Student, an applicant must have
