David Cici, BSME'73, Professor, Auburn University

Dr. David Cici, who obtained a BS in Mechanical Engineering from WVU in 1973, is currently a professor of Aerospace Engineering at Auburn University. He worked for McGraw-Edison Co. as an Associate Engineer from 1973 -1974 before joining Bettis Atomic Power Laboratory, Westinghouse Electric Corp. as an Engineer. He joined Swanson Engineering Associates Corp. in 1981 as a senior engineer. He took a plunge into the academic world when he joined Auburn University as an Assistant Professor in 1987 and has been promoted to the rank of Professor in 2000. He received the Outstanding Faculty Member of the year award twice in 1997 and 2002 and was also awarded the Birdsong Merit Teaching Award in 1998.

Dr. Cici's research interests include Astrodynamics, Estimation Theory, Kalman Filtering, Guidance and Control, Flight Dynamics, Satellite Geodesy, GPS Applications, and Numerical Analysis. He is also an Astrodynamics Technical Committee Member at the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics.
