Assistantship Position
Thermal barrier coatings are crucial components of many components used in the energy industry. This project will focus on the use of silica coatings produced from solution as thermal barriers. Work may include coating
deposition, thermal processing and thermal analysis. The ideal candidate will be a motivated Junior in MAE with good hands on skills and an interest in research. Interested candidates should contact Professor Darran Cairns
at darran.cairns@mail.wvu.edu. It is anticipated that the student will work 4 - 10 hrs per week depending on schedule.
