This is an Extended Learning Program (Study Abroad) aimed at students in mechanical, industrial and civil engineering from Mexico and the USA. Students earn credit towards the mechanical engineering capstone design courses MAE 471 and 472. The goal is to engage in meaningful cross-cultural industrial projects, which involve teamwork, application of engineering skills and overall professional development in a multi-cultural and bilingual environment. Students get exposure to the professional field in an international bi-cultural setting, while participating faculty bridge the gap with industry. Meanwhile industrial practitioners get the opportunity of sharing their experience with students and faculty, while industry benefits from an intense problem solving oriented exercise.
