Undergraduate Program

Mechanical Engineering at WVU

Mechanical engineers are problem solvers who are scientifically informed and mathematically minded. The mechanical engineering curriculum prepares students to deal effectively with a broad range of engineering problems rather than with narrow specialties. Graduates find employment in a wide range of industries, government agencies, and educational institutions where they are concerned with many functions.

Aerospace Engineering at WVU

The aerospace engineering program at WVU is designed to prepare the student for a career in the aerospace industries and in government research and development centers and laboratories, as well as in military mission-oriented agencies. The undergraduate curriculum also allows the student to prepare for graduate studies in aerospace engineering and in other engineering and non-engineering fields.

Mechanical/Aerospace Engineering Undergraduate Program Objectives

  • Graduates will be proficient in mechanical/aerospace engineering.
  • Graduates will be prepared to meet the varying demands of the workforce in the technological arena.
  • Graduates will be prepared for the pursuit of lifelong learning.
