A message from
Department Chair Jacky Prucz

On behalf of the MAE faculty and staff, I would like to welcome you back on campus and wish you a successful academic year 2009-2010. We are committed to provide you with a high quality education, while making your progress towards graduation as smooth, expedient and effective as possible. Our department is offering you access to excellent instructors, advisors, computer and laboratory facilities, as well as expert technical and clerical support, but it is your responsibility to be pro-active and leverage well the resources that we are making available to you.
Please remember that the level of success that each of you will ultimately achieve in your undergraduate or graduate education depends on your own hard work, motivation to learn, your ability to manage your time effectively, and, most of all, on your ability to conduct your student life according to solid principles of self discipline, mutual respect, high moral values, and professional responsibility. The educational goal that you ought to set at the start of each course, and pursue consistently throughout the semester, is not to earn a passing grade, but to learn, understand and know how to apply the course material in the future, either in subsequent courses or in your professional career.
Please do not hesitate to communicate with your instructors, advisors, teaching assistants or any other personnel of the MAE department, whenever you need our assistance in terms of either academic, personal or administrative matters.
I wish you again a productive, rewarding and pleasant academic year!
